Looking to kickstart a career in sales and business development? United Flower Growers (UFG), New Zealand’s largest wholesaler of fresh-cut flowers, is looking for an energetic, confident people-person to join our Auckland team.

We supply supermarkets, florists, and retailers nationwide — and we need someone who’s keen to get on the phones, connect with customers, and help grow our sales. If you’ve worked in retail, hospitality, or customer service and love talking to people, this could be your next step.

This role is a great mix of sales support, customer relationships, and hands-on action in our busy wholesale store. You’ll learn the ropes of B2B sales, account management, and negotiation — and get full training along the way.

What you’ll do

• Make proactive calls to customers — building relationships and driving repeat business
• Spot and convert new sales opportunities with supermarkets, florists, and retailers
• Help manage standing orders and keep customers stocked up with great products
• Negotiate pricing and find win-win deals
• Support customers in our Auckland store, upselling and keeping displays looking sharp
• Work closely with our national sales and operations teams to ensure great service

What you’ll bring

• A friendly, confident communicator who enjoys talking to people and building rapport
• Comfortable picking up the phone and having a go — you’re not afraid to sell
• Some experience in retail, customer service, or sales (or a related qualification)
• Motivated, reliable, and keen to learn how to grow a business
• Hands-on and physically fit — you’ll help with stock and displays
• A genuine interest in flowers, design, or retail (no experience needed, we’ll teach you!)
• Intermediate maths (using a calculator to work out totals/margins/etc.)
