ABOUT US

The Little Hire Company is a furniture and marquee hire business - hiring out furniture, decor and marquees for events and weddings. We work mostly in Canterbury, but also travel to Marlborough, and down to Central Otago.

JOB SUMMARY

This role varies – from deliveries, set-up and pack-down of events and installation and dismantling of marquees.
We are currenlty looking for team members who can work over the winter and spring specifically, and available during the week around their studies Monday - Friday during the day, aswell as weekends and some nights.
We then head into our busy period from November - March so props if you're available over the uni/holiday break.

This position has various tasks and responsibilities which can include –

• Picking orders in the warehouse and loading trucks
• Delivering and collecting orders
• Set-up and pack-down of service bars, backdrops and arches
• Setting up and packing down marquees
• Packdown of furniture and lighting
• General sorting and cleaning of hire products

HOW IT WORKS

We use an app to load shifts, where team members can apply and be assigned work.
Shifts are usually 3 hours, with a mix of weekday, weeknight and weekend work available. You apply for what you're available for.

Some of our team pick up shifts each week, anywhere between 3-6 hours, and others may pick up a shift a month.
November - March is our busiest with some team members may work 6-12 hours a week on average in the busy months. It all comes down to your availability, and we reward those who are consistent and reliable.

REQUIREMENTS

• Reliable and on time
• Can confidently drive a manual
• Willing to learn to drive our small trucks (Class 1)
• Physically fit and strong (must be able to lift 20kgs)
• Availability - we have work during the week, weekend and night work
• You have initiative and a good work ethic
