About Cosgrove Goodwin Architects
Cosgrove Goodwin Architects is a well-established, design-focused architectural practice based in Ngaio, Wellington. With over 20 years of experience, we work across a wide range of project types—from new residential builds and subdivisions to educational, light commercial, and renovation projects. Our studio is collaborative, creative, and values the contribution of every team member.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a recent architecture graduate to join our team in an administrative capacity. This is an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the operational side of an architectural practice while developing valuable skills in studio management, project coordination, and professional communication.
This role offers a unique chance to kickstart your career in the architecture industry by gaining real-world experience in a professional design studio.
Key Responsibilities
You will support the day-to-day running of the studio, including:
- Financial Administration: Assisting with invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and liaising with our accountant.
- Project & Business Support: Setting up and maintaining project records, supporting compliance, assisting the directors with administrative tasks and assisting the team with design tasks when required.
- Office Management: Managing supplies, subscriptions, reception duties, and ensuring the studio remains organised and well-equipped.
- Marketing & Communications: Updating our website and social media, coordinating photography and branding, and assisting with award submissions.
- Team Coordination: Supporting HR processes such as leave tracking, payroll updates, and staff training logistics.
About You
We’re looking for a recent graduate who is:
- Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive
- A confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
- Comfortable using (or willing to learn) tools such as Microsoft 365, Xero, and WorkFlowMax
While prior administrative experience is a bonus, it is not essential. We value enthusiasm, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
What We Offer
- Flexible hours negotiable (27.5–37.5 hours per week)
- Competitive remuneration based on experience
- A supportive and inclusive studio environment
- Opportunities to gain practical experience in architectural operations
