Position Purpose: 
The OSCAR Activator is responsible for running planned activities with the children,
making sure that the environment is safe for the kids and positively influences the kids
and encouraging them to participate in the activities. Role includes driving van so a driver's license is essential.

Shifts - 0715am - 915am

230pm - 6pm

Full drivers license required, experience driving van and manual gear box with childcare experience advantage

Key Responsibilities: 
 Support the Manager & Senior Supervisor to deliver engaging and age
appropriate activities for children for before school care, after – school care and
holiday sessions.

 Ensure the program runs smoothly and effectively.
 Helping and supporting the team and being a team player.
 Always maintain the code of conduct by wearing proper uniform and positive
attitude at the programme.
 Assist with maintaining proper ratio on the programme and deliver a positive
program. 
 Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in the program. 
 Follow health and safety procedures, reporting incidents and accidents. 
 Communicate effectively with children and ensure their participation, making
sure any concerns related to child mental and physical wellbeing are reported to
the OSCAR Manager   
 Cleaning up after each activity.
 Making sure that the premises are clean and ready for the afternoon session if
rostered in the morning or the closing shift at afterschool care 
 Other reasonable duties as required to keep the programme running smoothly

 Ability to manage resources effectively.

 Ability to think on your feet

Additional duties
 Vacuuming the centre
 Making sure that the floors are mopped everyday (if possible, with hot water at
least once a week)
 All bins are empties and bin liners are changed every day, giving bins a good
clean once a week.
 Vacuuming the front of backdoor.
 Making sure the storage space in well maintained and tidy
 Cleaning tables and kitchen counters after use and after before school care.
