Pay Rate: $23.50 to 29.10 per hour, subject to completed caregiving qualification

Location: Client's home.

About the Role

As a Home Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enabling our clients to live independently, safely, and comfortably in their own homes. Your compassionate care and support will enhance their quality of life and overall well-being.

Each client will have individual care requirements, and you will support them with elements of daily living, such as:

• Personal Care: Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Support: Help clients with safe transfers and mobility, including the use of mobility aids.
• Household Assistance: Help with light housekeeping tasks, meal planning, preparation, and feeding.
• Emotional Support: Provide companionship, meaningful engagement, and emotional support through conversation and activities.
• Community Engagement: Accompany clients to appointments, social events, or community activities to promote social inclusion.
• Medication Management: Administer medications and perform health-related tasks as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
• Health Monitoring: Check and document vital signs, assist with exercises or physical therapy routines, and monitor for side effects.

Skills and Experience

• At least 6 months of experience as a Support Worker preferred
• Experience with clients with brain and spinal injury is preferred
• Health and Wellbeing qualification (or equivalent) preferred
• Certificate in Brain Injury Support, Pressure Injuries and Management of clients with complex medical needs are an advantage
• Genuinely love working with people who need support
• Be intuitive and responsive to people's feelings and needs
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• The right to work in New Zealand
• Full or restricted driver's license and access to reliable transportation
• Availability to work weekends and evenings if required
