About your team / Ko te tīma
Led by the Manager Data Operations and Intelligence Analysis, the Data Operations and Intelligence Analysis Team includes both Intelligence and data specialists.
The team contributes to the WorkSafe’s regulatory functions by delivering intelligence and insights to all levels of the organisation.
The team is going through an exciting period of transformation as we work to combine the varied disciplines within the team to create something greater than the sum of our parts.

About the role / Ō te tūranga
In this role, you'll be responsible for collecting, assessing, and analysing all-source data and information to support both strategic and operational decision-making. Your work will help ensure that our regulatory efforts are focused, evidence-based, and aligned with the greatest areas of need.
What You'll Do/ Ko tōu ake mahi
· Support the organisation's strategic priorities though the provision of useful and actionable intelligence products using intelligence tradecraft, processes and methodologies
· Provide decision makers with timely, useful, actionable intelligence
· Routinely apply analytical techniques to the analysis of health and safety issues, drawing on a large amount of all-source information and intelligence
· Develop and maintain effective internal and external intelligence collection networks
· Be responsible for a portfolio (agriculture), closely monitoring developments in your specialised area, become expert in identifying, sharing and confidently communicating emerging risks and trends, and assessing the implications of these for your clients
What You'll Bring / Ko ngā pukenga ōu
· An analytical mindset – with openness to exploring creative and muti-disciplinary approaches to answering ‘unanswerable’ questions
· Ideally, regulatory intelligence analysis training and experience
· Previous experience with regulatory functions or law enforcement
· A tertiary qualification or comparable relevant experience in intelligence analysis
· Strong experience conducting analysis and research, ideally in an intelligence context
· Experience collecting information from a wide range of internal and external sources
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and demands from a range of stakeholders whilst meeting strict deadlines
· Experience delivering under pressure while sustaining productivity of ongoing projects.
· Ability to communicate clearly, with impact and confidence in writing and in person
· Open-mindedness to adopting and adapting to high-tech tools with a solutions focused approach to problem solving
Salary range / Awhe utu
As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $81,587 to $106,892 and our expected starting base
salary for the right person is from $81,587 to $90,021. Note: KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contribution is additional too/on top of your base salary.
