Hello!

My 5 year old is very bright and very neurodivergent (ASD, ADHD). He has a lot of social anxiety and is currently homeschooled while we work on developing his self confidence and social skills.

His passion is gaming, but because he’s so young I’m having trouble finding an appropriate gaming community for him. That’s where you come in!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

I’m looking for a student to be my son’s online gaming buddy. You’ll need to use zoom for video-chat along with Roblox and Minecraft (the iPad version). He also has a Nintendo switch, if you’re able to teach him to do online gaming with that too.

SKILLS:

Some experience with both Minecraft and Roblox will be needed, as well as a patient, friendly and supportive demeanour. I’d like someone who’ll be able to engage him in chat and help build his social skills/confidence.

My kiddo had a quick wit, low frustration tolerance, and he can be quite rude - so please don't apply if you're easily offended!

My son has a very strong lisp so you may need to have English as a first language in order to be able to understand him.

AVAILABILITY:

I’d ideally like someone who is available on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday morning, for 60 min, any time between 8-11am.

Start ASAP. Role can continue for 6+ months, with at least 2 hours per week.

Rate is $25-$30 per hour depending on relevant experience (eg experience with kids/mentoring/teaching and/or disabilities).
