We’re looking for a skilled support worker to empower our thirteen-year-old daughter to live independently and actively. This is not a “do-it-for-her” role—you’ll help her participate in everyday life, stay active, and follow her home therapy program, while supporting personal care, learning, social activities, and daily routines. We need someone with: • Experience working with children or adults with disabilities, including physical transfers • A focus on independence and skill-building, not just completing tasks • Reliable transport to work and full driver’s license • Commitment to providing consistent support • Day-to-Day Responsibilities & Opportunities: • Facilitating engaging play and social interaction with peers • Supporting learning and homework within her school program • Encouraging independence with personal care and daily routines • Implementing and supporting her home therapy program to keep her active and developing skills • Promoting fitness and participation in age-appropriate activities • Supporting organisation and decision-making, helping her make choices • Working collaboratively as part of a team with parents and other professionals What we offer: • Flexible hours: evenings and weekends • Hands-on experience in disability support, child development, and health • Support to gain NZQA Level 4 Health & Wellbeing certification, fees-free • A fun, creative, and supportive environment where your ideas are welcome If you’re energetic, patient, and passionate about helping someone thrive, this is the role for you.
