Our tutors work one-on-one with students, providing a professional service that responds directly to every student’s needs. We mainly assist high school students towards NCEA, as well as Cambridge and IB. We also tutor primary school students, as well as adults.

We have high expectations of our tutors, so if you would like to tutor NCEA we expect you are:

· able to tutor in a minimum of THREE subjects to a Merit or Excellence level at Level 3, with a core subject of English, Mathematics or Science.

· willing and able to assist students with every achievement standard in each subject you can tutor in.

We need tutors who can help students with:

· English

· Mathematics, Calculus and Statistics

· General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth & Space Science

· Accounting, Economics

· Geography, History

If you are interested in being a tutor with us, you must be:

· organised and punctual.

· available for a minimum of 5 hours of tuition per week, but more is preferable.

· available during the school terms.

· willing and able to travel to at least 4 public libraries or to student's homes. A minimum of a 4km radius is expected. The most commonly used libraries are the Fendalton Library, Papanui Library, University of Canterbury and the Upper Riccarton Library, The ability to travel throughout Christchurch and to surrounding areas such as Lincoln and Rangiora will give you an advantage over other applicants.

· able to commit until early December of each given year. Preferably you will also be available to tutor for several years. This allows you to build long-lasting and rewarding relationships with students and parents.

You will have an advantage over other applicants if you have reliable transport to travel throughout Christchurch, and to surrounding areas such as Lincoln and Rangiora.

Note: Successful applicants will be considered independent contractors (self-employed) therefore those on student visas are ineligible to apply.

Our tutors receive a highly competitive remuneration, proportional to length of service. Additional payments relating to travel are available, that depend on the tutorial location.
