This job is to help a 9 year old autistic boy to expand his world and enjoyment. You would be taking him to places he enjoys twice per week in your own car. You must have a reliable and safe vehicle and a full and clean drivers licence. The job is 5 hours per week, days and times will be somewhat flexible and variable to suit both parties and the weather. Places he likes to visit are currently the zoo, playgrounds, the beach, ten pin bowling, te papa, and walks in nature. You will be responsible for making sure you’ve got everything he needs for the outing, driving to and from, being an extra set of hands to keep things running smoothly, keeping him safe when out and noticing when it’s time to leave. Full support and training will be provided. You will spend some time getting to know him before venturing out. Most outings will be accompanied by our au pair Lucie. You will be working as a team to ensure everyone has a good time, and things run smoothly. The child’s older brother (14) may also like to come along for certain outings that he enjoys during school holidays.
