We are seeking a friendly and reliable Violin, Cello, Harp Tutor to join our Central Auckland music school (5 min walking distance from Westfield, Newmarket). The ideal candidate will enjoy teaching children and young people in a supportive, community-focused environment.

Join us in 2026, term 1, but the right candidate might start with a few small hours during term 4, 2025.

As the position is a contractor based (WT), only PR and citizen can apply for the role.

Details & Hours:

• Location: 95 Remuera Road, Remuera (studio provided)
• Hours; Must be available after school hour 3.30-7pm (earlier or later hours may also available depends on the lessons)
• Term-time teaching, aligned with secondary school terms

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach individual and/or small group violin and cello lessons
• Prepare engaging lessons suitable for a range of beginner to intermediate students
• Support students’ musical growth through technique, repertoire, and performance opportunities
• Help set up equipment (piano provided by us, with your assistance in setup if needed)

Requirements:

• Current music student or holding high-level certification (Diploma or higher preferred)
• Previous teaching experience strongly preferred
• Reliable, punctual, and enthusiastic about music education
• Has no issue for a police vetting check
• Must hold PR or Citizen due to the work type
