Skillset Basketball is looking for Junior Coaches to join our team. This is a development role designed for those with no prior coaching experience — you’ll be supported, mentored, and given the tools to grow into a confident coach.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Teach basketball fundamentals through drills and games
• Practice coaching under guidance from senior staff
• Lead warm-ups and Hoop Club drills
• Support young players in learning and skill development
• Learn to explain the game and rules clearly
• Shadow Senior Coaches in sessions and ask questions
• Practice communication and projection to find your coaching voice
• Begin developing your own coaching style
• Assist with filming and reviewing sessions

HOW YOU’LL LEARN

• Skillset Basketball provides a structured, supportive environment to help you grow:
• Mentorship from Head and Senior Coaches
• Training Hub with access to coaching resources and drills handbook
• Homework and reflection tasks to strengthen knowledge
• Onboarding process covering policies and expectations
• Police vetting to ensure child safety and wellbeing
• An environment built around feedback, encouragement, and growth

PAYMENT & PATHWAY

• Junior Coaches receive a $10 travel allowance per session.
• This is a training role with no prior coaching experience required.

Once ready, Junior Coaches can progress into paid Senior Coach positions, which start at $25–$30 per hour.
