This employer is looking for a keen quantity surveyor to carry out projects from start to finish, working on tenders and cost plans to variations and close out. You will be active in ordering, scheduling, budget monitoring and document control. A passionate approach to QS work is expected.

You will need to be able to read architectural drawings and you must have proven work experience reading architectural drawings in a work based environment. Please only apply if you have substantial experience in this area.

You will need to include an example of an architectural drawing (either commercial or residential) in your application. Please ensure your CV includes a single page A4 image showing a template you would use with an appropriate calculation method. 

After submitting your application you will be going through a phone interview with the employer where you will be answering very technical questions related to reading architectural drawings.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following:

• Tertiary education in Quantity Surveying, e.g. Diploma or Degree

• Knowledge of QS processes (cost planning, bills of quantity preparation, measuring cost plans and contract administration)

• Prepared to navigate your way around work sites and provide technical knowledge to the engineering and building teams

• Superb communication skills.

• Must be an Advanced user of Microsoft Excel/Producing Reports etc.

• An accounting background would be highly preferable as it would be good for you to be able to see a project through from start to finish

• You must have your own transport and license as there may be some times you need to visit sites and you need to be reliable in getting to work.
