Reports To: Head Toy Librarian Location: West Auckland Community Toy Library, Green Bay Purpose: Provide a welcoming librarian service to the members of the Toy Library and wider community. Supervise and maintain a safe environment for families to visit. Hours: 1.45 pm Every Saturday (except public holidays), 1 month Christmas shut down. Be flexible to cover or swap to a Sunday afternoon shift on occasion 12.30- 5.30 pm Pay: We pay the NZ Living Wage. Key Tasks: Induct new members – welcome, explain process and responsibilities . Responsible for operating the library sessions which includes: Opening and closing the library on time. Providing training and guidance to the rostered volunteers  Issuing and receiving toys and payments Maintaining the toy library catalogue records Tracking lost pieces Keeping the library clean and safe for families Withdrawing unsafe toys Communicating any problems to head librarian Emailing members Learning and utilising toy library software and google workspace Specification for this Role Someone passionate about our charity and our mission. Responsible, capable of being in a busy environment, in a sole charge position helping families and members of the public visiting. The person we are looking for needs to be comfortable around babies, toddlers, and able to relate well to a diverse range of people Excellent communicator Clean, organised and pays attention to detail Reliable and efficient Flexible to swap or cover shifts with other toy librarians to help cover leave and sickness Intuitive and a good problem-solver
