About The Company

Auckland Lab is one of the leading labs in product safety testing and compliance certification in Australasia. Based in Auckland and Brisbane, we specialize in the safety testing of household and commercial appliances, light fittings, tools, information technology equipment, electric cables, and industrial equipment. We provide compliance consultation and certification services to local and international customers.

About The Role

As a key member of our safety testing team, we are looking for a junior compliance engineer to build on our market-leading engineering capability.

Working with the Compliance Manager or the Technical Manager, the role is to:

  • Perform product safety tests in accordance with local or international standards.
  • Liaison with AS/NZS Regulators, and provide compliance solutions to the clients.
  • Create and improve test plans, test procedures, and test methods.
  • Provide schedules and timely responses to customers.
  • Review technical product documents to ensure they are suitable for product certification and applications.
  • Have the capability to set up a new department and develop business.
  • Monitor quality and performance measures such as turnaround time.

Skills And Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with safety test equipment and methods, and general laboratory test equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical safety regulations and radio spectrum regulations.
  • Sound experience in electrical/electronic fault findings.
  • Be technically minded and have previous experience with reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting technical documents and test reports.
  • Applicant must have the right to work. NZ Citizen or resident is preferred.
