You need to follow these guidelines below. This is because we need to offer a good service to ensure we can continue to get job vacancies for students. Remember anytime you do not act in accordance with the rules below you give students and Student Job Search a bad name, impacting the chance of securing roles for students (as well as you) in the future.
Failure to do so will lead to a short term or permanent ban from using Student Job Search.
The Following Rules Relate to My Conduct and Quality of Service
1. Be Professional and Respectful
I will be professional, courteous and respectful with SJS Staff and SJS Employers.
2. Contact employers within 24 hours
I will contact SJS Employers promptly and within 24 hours.
3. Attend all job interviews
I will commit to attend interviews that I have been invited to by an SJS Employer.
4. Referral Information is strictly confidential
I will keep SJS Employer details strictly confidential, and will not pass details on to anyone else.
5. Renegotiating Wages
I will not attempt to renegotiate wages that have already been agreed upon.
6. Commitment to the job
I will show up to any job I have gained through SJS.
7. Punctuality and presentation
I will be punctual, well presented and act in a professional manner with any SJS Employer or job I get through SJS.
8. Honesty and truthfulness
I will give true information about myself when asked by SJS or an SJS Employer.
9. Conduct
I will not engage in any conduct that may bring SJS into disrepute.
There will be consequences for you if you break any of these rules
*Where it is alleged that you have breached the above rules you will be limited access to SJS jobs while the matter is investigated by SJS.
*You may be asked to sign the SJS rules and talk to a staff member about your obligations as a member;
*You may be asked to explain in writing what happened and explain why you think your membership should be maintained;
*You may be limited or refused referrals to positions where previously you have not performed to expectation;
*You may be suspended from the SJS service for a period of time or indefinitely;
*Any repeated breaches of the rules may result in permanent removal from access to SJS services.
Disputes or issues with Employers
If you have a dispute with an employer that you have been unable to resolve we suggest you advise SJS. We will endeavour to assist with the resolution of the dispute, as far as time permits.
