International students in New Zealand who have a student visa with a work entitlement noted in the conditions are able to find work through Student Job Search. If your visa does NOT allow you to work in New Zealand, you need to apply for a ‘Variations of Conditions’ permit from NZ Immigration Service. Once you've registered you'll need to upload an image of work permit in your Passport and your current student ID card.

Studylink Unemployment Benefit Student Hardship (UBSH). If you are applying for the Unemployment Benefit Hardship (UBSH) through StudyLink over the summer (via www.studylink.govt.nz) , you'll need to be enrolled with Student Job Search.  Then come and find work with SJS! The obligations regarding SJS for UBSH Students are:
- StudyLink need to see proof of your SJS membership
- Ensure that SJS has your correct contact details at all times.
- You need to be actively looking for work on sjs.co.nz and be shown to be actually wanting to work. Failure to comply with our terms and conditions will jeopardise your UBSH payments.
